Business Systems & Integration Manager

About Altus and the Role

We have the systems. We need someone who owns how people actually use them.

Altus Financial is an integrated accounting, business advisory, wealth management and lending firm. Our Business Services division has 100 people across Sydney CBD, Erina on the Central Coast and Macquarie Park, supported by offshore teams — and we're growing - organically and through acquisition. That growth has created a role that doesn't currently exist anywhere in the firm.

We run a substantial platform stack — NetSuite for jobs, timesheets, billing and CRM, SharePoint and ClientVerse for document management, Xero, DocuSign, BGL, ATOmate, Microsoft 365 and more. Our IT function keeps it all connected. What we don't have is someone who owns the other half: whether the people using it understand it, whether new starters get up to speed quickly, and whether an office we've just acquired can move onto our platforms without disruption to their work or their clients.

That's this role. Part systems thinker, part trainer, part project manager.

What you'll do

Bring new people in properly. Own the Business Services onboarding experience end to end — system setup, access, the induction that explains not just how our systems work but why we've built them the way we have, and the follow-up that makes sure it landed. Delivered in whichever office the person is starting in.

Keep the team we already have good at this. Own our training and documentation library and keep it genuinely current and used. Become our internal authority on how each platform is best used, and share that.

Integrate acquired offices. This is the biggest piece. Our next integration goes live early in 2027, with more expected after it. You'll project manage the Business Services side — data migration and mapping, translating their processes into ours, working through what that means for individual roles, training their team, and being on the ground through cutover. Where they do something better than us, you'll bring it back and spread it across the division. You'll represent Business Services with our internal IT team, People and Culture, Marketing and external providers.

Make it repeatable. We'd rather not start from scratch each time. Building a method that carries most of the load from one integration to the next is a core part of the job.

Use technology to do the heavy lifting. We're actively building AI capability, including a Copilot Cowork plugin for NetSuite diagnostics. We want someone who comes to us with "here's how we could do this better", not someone waiting to be told.

About you

  • You think in systems. You can hold a picture of a dozen connected platforms in your head and see what a change in one does to the others.
  • You're good with people. This role succeeds by helping people learn and understand, not by knowing the most about the software. You can explain why we work the way we do, and you can hold that line with a senior professional who disagrees — clearly, and without turning it into a fight.
  • You can run a project. You've taken a complex change from plan to cutover, across internal and external parties, and landed it on a date.
  • You're genuinely curious about technology. You go looking for better ways to work.
  • You're happy to travel to our Erina and Macquarie Park offices and to be physically present when it matters — a full week on site during a cutover is a normal expectation.

Helpful, not essential: experience in an accounting or professional services firm; familiarity with platforms like Xero, DocuSign, BGL or a practice management system of NetSuite's scale; prior experience integrating an acquired business.

Not required: a client service or practice management background, or deep technical development skill. Understanding how the whole landscape connects matters more than either.

What we offer

  • Reporting directly to the General Manager, Business Services, with real access to the division's leadership and scope to shape the role as it develops.
  • A clear runway — a known pipeline of integrations and the mandate to build how we do them.
  • Sydney CBD based. Flexibility over how and where you work, balanced against being where the team needs you.
  • Regular career development check ins, designed to help you achieve your career goals.
  • We work hard, but we also believe in celebrating our successes. We recognise, celebrate, and reward your performance, contributions, and achievement.
  • Regular social opportunities to have fun with your colleagues.

Please submit your resume and evidence of qualifications if you would like to be considered for this fantastic opportunity.
