The opportunity

The Credit Analyst is responsible for monitoring and managing customer accounts in the assigned portfolio. Developing and maintaining good business relationships with internal and external customers whilst collecting receivables in a timely manner to minimize bad debt and achieve target DSO. Responsibilities also include assistance in the preparation of various daily and monthly schedules to further advance the various risk analytics initiatives and add value to maintaining and designing professional, articulate, and insightful reports in delivering the department’s objectives. Attention to detail, effective communication, elevated problem-solving capabilities and excellent time management skills are required.

The role:

• Monitor customer accounts for delinquency, follow up on receivables in line with Gildan’s Credit Policy, and prepare portfolio reports to support management decisions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer files, including contact details, financial information, credit reports and account monitoring records.
• Review, approve and release credit-held orders in accordance with established credit limits and required authorisations.
• Review and approve customer and intercompany receipts and credits, ensuring accurate application and compliance with Credit Policy and SOX requirements.
• Conduct credit reviews for new and existing customers in collaboration with Sales and Legal to assess creditworthiness and support credit decisions.
• Prepare credit-related reports to support senior management decision-making and minimise credit risk.

The requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Level 1 of a recognised professional accounting designation.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit, accounts receivable, finance or a related area.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and the ability to follow established credit policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using ERP systems.
