Our System Validation team in Brno provides the hardware, software, laboratory support, and measurement capabilities required for detailed testing of prototype integrated circuits (ICs) and their applications. The team supports the development of automotive and industrial ICs by preparing test setups, executing measurements, documenting results, and helping engineers understand product behavior under demanding electrical and EMC conditions.

We are looking for a reliable and technically oriented Lab Technician who will support two closely connected areas: component ordering and DAA administration for development projects, and hands-on execution of selected EMC and robustness tests. This role is suitable for a candidate with secondary technical education or a bachelor degree, practical electronics knowledge, good attention to detail, and willingness to work in a laboratory environment.

The position is not purely administrative. A key part of the role is the ability to understand electronic components, their parameters and practical limits, so that suitable alternatives can be identified when a requested component is not available on the market. The second part of the role is focused on laboratory work, especially automotive-oriented EMC and robustness tests such as ESD testing with an ESD gun, latch-up testing, and transient immunity testing using Schaffner/Teseq-type equipment.

In cooperation with validation engineers, EMC engineers, design engineers, project teams, and laboratory colleagues, you will support the preparation and execution of IC and application-level validation activities. Your work will be divided into two main responsibility areas:

  1. DAA administration and component ordering support for development projects.
  2. EMC and electrical robustness laboratory support, focused mainly on automotive testing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing DAA-related administration and component ordering processes. You will support project teams by processing component requests, tracking orders, communicating with internal stakeholders, and helping ensure that required components are available when needed.

  • Checking component availability and proposing alternatives. When requested components are obsolete, delayed, or unavailable, you will help identify technically suitable replacements. This requires understanding component parameters, tolerances, package types, electrical ratings, temperature range, application suitability, and possible impact on the circuit.

  • Supporting project continuity. By actively following component availability and potential substitutes, you will help reduce delays in board assembly, prototype testing, and project validation milestones.

  • Preparing EMC and robustness test setups. You will assemble laboratory setups according to internal procedures, test plans, and engineer instructions. This includes preparing DUTs, cables, fixtures, power supplies, monitoring equipment, ESD setup elements, grounding, and required documentation.

  • Performing selected EMC tests. You will operate test equipment and execute defined tests, primarily ESD gun testing, latch-up testing, and transient disturbance testing using Schaffner/Teseq-type automotive EMC equipment.

  • Evaluating and documenting results. You will record test conditions, monitor DUT behavior, collect measurement evidence, evaluate pass/fail outcomes according to defined criteria, and prepare clear test reports.

  • Supporting automotive validation needs. The main focus will be automotive-related testing, where repeatability, traceability, correct setup preparation, and disciplined documentation are essential.

  • Maintaining laboratory readiness. You will help keep laboratory equipment, accessories, fixtures, cables, ESD tools, and test areas organized, available, and ready for use.

  • Secondary technical education or bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Mechatronics, or a similar technical field.

  • Basic written and spoken English communication skills. The candidate must be able to read component datasheets, internal procedures, equipment manuals, and standard-related documentation in English.

  • Practical knowledge of electronic components and their main parameters. Basic understanding of resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, connectors, and protection components.

  • At least basics ability to read basic schematic diagrams and understand simple basic electronic circuits.

  • Basic experience with laboratory instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, laboratory power supplies, signal generators, electronic loads, and current probes is expected. Experience with ESD testing, latch-up testing, or EMC testing is an advantage, but not mandatory and can be learned on the job.

  • Basic awareness of automotive EMC, ESD, or robustness testing is an advantage but not mandatory. Relevant testing methods, standards, and procedures can be learned on the job.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain test documentation using predefined templates and previous reports, including test setup description, test conditions, photos, result tables, and measured data.

  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and SharePoint/Confluence-type information systems.

  • Manual soldering experience is an advantage, especially for standard SMD components, simple rework, connector preparation, and cable modification.
