MISSION

Reporting to the VP of Center of Excellence (CoE), the Global Market Insights Director defines and leads Almirall’s global market insights capability. The role ensures the generation of robust, forward-looking and actionable insights that inform brand, portfolio, launch and commercial decision-making across franchises, regions and market companies.

The Director integrates primary and secondary market research, competitive intelligence, forecasting, performance analytics and emerging data sources into one coherent business view. Acting as a trusted strategic advisor, the role converts evidence into clear choices, implications and recommendations, enabling leaders to move from “what happened?” to “why did it happen?”, “what is likely to happen?” and “what should we do next?”.

The role owns functional standards, governance, talent, partners and investment prioritisation for GMI, while promoting close collaboration with Franchises, Regions, Finance, Commercial Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing & Launch Excellence, Market Access, Medical Affairs and other enabling functions. All activities must be conducted in line with applicable laws, industry codes and Almirall policies, with appropriate protection of confidential, personal and competitively sensitive information.

CORE RESPONSABILITIES

Set the GMI vision and strategy. Define a clear, enterprise-wide insights ambition, operating model, priorities and capability roadmap aligned with Almirall’s business and portfolio strategy.

Lead the Global Market Insights organisation. Allocate resources across franchises, brands and priority business questions; clarify accountabilities; and ensure timely, high-quality delivery across cross-franchise and asset-specific work.

Serve as a trusted strategic advisor. Partner with senior commercial, franchise, regional and functional leaders; frame the decisions that matter; challenge assumptions constructively; and bring an independent, evidence-based point of view.

Build an integrated insights ecosystem. Connect customer, patient, market, competitor, sales, access and internal performance signals into a single narrative that identifies opportunities, risks, drivers and implications.

Govern global market research. Set standards for research planning, methodology, sampling, questionnaire design, synthesis and communication; oversee high-value qualitative and quantitative studies; and ensure that the voice of the customer informs strategy.

Lead competitive and market intelligence. Establish an ethical and compliant intelligence cycle that monitors market evolution, competitor strategies, scientific and commercial developments, and emerging disruptors; translate signals into scenarios and early-warning recommendations.

Own forecasting excellence. Govern global forecasting frameworks, assumptions, scenarios and documentation across assets and markets; integrate market, epidemiology, access, competitive and performance perspectives; and improve transparency, consistency and decision usefulness.

Drive performance insight and business optimisation. Monitor sales, market share, customer and execution indicators; distinguish signal from noise; identify root causes; and recommend specific actions to accelerate growth, improve launch readiness and optimise investment.

Strengthen portfolio and launch decisions. Provide insight leadership across lifecycle stages, including market opportunity assessment, indication and asset prioritisation, target product profile testing, demand and uptake scenarios, launch readiness, and post-launch learning agendas.

Advance analytics, data and AI-enabled insight generation. Promote fit-for-purpose use of advanced analytics, automation and artificial intelligence; partner on data quality and governance; and ensure that innovation remains business-led, transparent, responsible and scalable.

Create decision-focused reporting and storytelling. Establish concise dashboards, executive narratives and structured performance forums that communicate not only findings, but also implications, choices, risks and recommended actions.

Lead external partners and GMI investment. Select and manage research, data and analytics partners; set clear quality expectations; prioritise spend against strategic value; ensure procurement and compliance requirements; and build internal capability where it creates sustainable advantage.

Develop talent and functional excellence. Coach, empower and retain a diverse, high-performing GMI team; build business acumen, consultative influence, methodological expertise and digital fluency; create succession and development plans; and foster accountability and continuous learning.

Embed global-local collaboration. Create effective feedback loops with regions and market companies, balancing global consistency with local relevance, and enabling reuse of evidence, methods and learning across the organisation.

Champion change and continuous improvement. Challenge the status quo, simplify ways of working and anticipate future capability needs while balancing urgent business requirements with long-term value creation.
