Job Description: IT & Telecom Construction Supervisor

Company: KBR Iraq

Location: Majnoon Oil Field, Iraq, (Rotation Alignment 28/28)

Nationality: Iraqi Nationals Preferred

The Telecom Construction Supervisor is responsible for day‑to‑day supervision of telecommunications construction activities across greenfield and brownfield areas within the Majnoon Oil Field. The role ensures safe execution, technical compliance, and adherence to project specifications, supporting the delivery of telecom systems in line with cost, schedule, and quality expectations. The Supervisor works closely with Engineering, HSE, Construction, and C&P teams to maintain progress and resolve operational issues.

Accountabilities / Expectations

• Ensure compliance with KBR and project HSE standards across all telecom construction activities.

• Enforce safe work practices including confined space entry, lifting operations, electrical safety, and cable installation.

• Conduct regular inspections, toolbox talks, and participate in risk mitigation planning.

• Telecommunications Construction Supervision

• Supervise installation, configuration, testing, and preservation of telecom systems including:

  • Fiber Optic networks
  • Structured cabling
  • Radio systems
  • PAGA
  • CCTV

• Access Control Systems (ACS)

• PIDs

• Voice, data, and video networks

• Review vendor test results for fiber optic and network performance and report deviations.

• Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality requirements.

• Support implementation of construction strategies for both greenfield and brownfield scopes.

• Coordination & Execution

• Work with the Discipline Lead to maintain alignment on scope, quality, cost, and schedule.

• Ensure Engineering and C&P deliverables support construction sequencing and handover milestones.

• Participate in constructability reviews to identify risks and improve productivity.

• Coordinate integration of telecom infrastructure into the broader construction plan with minimal disruption.

• Maintain accurate progress reporting and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.

• Technical Support & Issue Resolution

• Identify technical issues and coordinate with Engineering and contractors to resolve them promptly.

• Ensure telecom installations comply with international standards and project-specific requirements.

• Supervise multiple telecom work fronts to maintain schedule and quality performance.

• Team Supervision & Communication

• Supervise telecom technicians and contractor teams, providing clear daily instructions and expectations.

• Offer technical guidance and monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with standards.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including non‑technical personnel, to ensure clarity of interfaces and requirements.

• Performance & Delivery

• Ensure telecom construction activities are executed safely, on schedule, and within defined quality parameters.

• Maintain compliance with project specifications, standards, and HSE requirements.

• Support productivity improvements and resource‑based planning (Level 4 Scheduling).

• Maintain strong coordination between contractors, engineering teams, and client representatives.

• Support seamless integration of telecom systems into operational infrastructure.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience

8+ years of experience in oil & gas telecommunications systems.

• Strong background in fiber optics, structured cabling, radio communication, CCTV, SCADA, and PAGA systems.
• Experience in remote and challenging environments, including brownfield and greenfield projects.
• Knowledge of international telecom standards and oil & gas HSE regulations.

• Strong supervisory and team coordination capability.
• Experience in productivity measurement and resource‑based planning.
• Excellent communication and interface management skills.
• Ability to supervise multiple work fronts simultaneously
