An exciting opportunity has become available for a Libraries & Council Services Assistant to join the Waitematā Local Board Libraries team, based at Grey Lynn Library. This role offers variety and flexibility, with opportunities to work across other libraries within the local board area, including Parnell Library and Leys Institute Little Library.

We're looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic team player who enjoys working with people and thrives in a collaborative environment. As part of our high-performing, supportive, and dynamic team, you'll play an important role in delivering excellent service, supporting day-to-day library operations, and helping create a welcoming and inclusive experience for our customers.

Our library is open Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm and Saturday 10am-4pm.

This is a permanent part time position working 22 hours per week. You will be working Thursday 8.30am-5.30pm, Friday 8.30am-5.30pm & Saturday 9.30am-4pm.

  • Strong communication skills
  • Evidence of working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Comfortable with technology and able to support customers to successfully use information resources and devices that are available at the library
  • Willing to work with the library team in the deliver of programmes and events
  • Can demonstrate experience working with a diverse range of people.
  • Flexible and collaborative approach to your work
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Te Ao Māori values and principles.

The salary ranges between $67,414 - $79,310 dependant on experience
