Senior Accountant

  • Findex
  • Oamaru, New Zealand
  • NZD 4,300,000

Live and work in one of the South Island's most liveable towns. Findex has an opportunity for an Accounting Professional to join our Oamaru team. If you're looking to grow your career somewhere with a genuinely great lifestyle — think coastal walks, heritage architecture, a thriving food and wine scene, and a fraction of the commute of the big cities — this is your chance.

You'll join a close-knit, client-focused team, working directly with the stakeholders and clients in your own portfolio. Continuous self-improvement is built in, through on-the-job learning and personalised training.

What will your typical week look like?

  • Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for clients, drawing on strong technical skills across income tax, company tax, GST, FBT, trusts, management accounting and reporting requirements
  • Assisting with business advice and complex special purpose reports, annual financial statements, tax returns and reconciliations
  • Working with project-related financials — budgeting, cash flow management, forecasting and cost tracking to support financial decision-making
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Bringing a proactive, self-motivated attitude, equally comfortable working solo or as part of a team

The benefits of joining us

  • We support your professional growth by covering your CA membership fees, ensuring you stay up to date with industry standards
  • Tailored career pathways and development programs aligned with your professional aspirations
  • Access to industry-leading learning and development designed to accelerate your growth

What you bring to the role

You are someone with:

  • Proven accounting experience within public practice
  • CA qualification preferred
  • A genuine desire to be an enthusiastic and active contributor to the team
  • Fantastic people skills and a passion for accounting and business advisory services
