Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

The Commodity Manager will be accountable for proactively managing all aspects of supplier development and ongoing supplier performance in accordance with NCR’s business needs; working in close collaboration with applicable external and internal parties to proactively drive supplier selection, assessment, negotiations, contract performance, supply base consolidations, quality improvements, cost reductions, and other critical performance metrics. The selected candidate will execute Outsource Services acquisition strategy and reduce total cost of services in support of our services infrastructure deployment. As a seasoned professional, you will be expected to actively engage and participate on large projects; as well as understand and resolve complex issues that put Outsource Services’ objectives at risk

  • Manage spend with OSS Suppliers in CEA (Central European Area) between 25 and 50M. Can manage Labor, Outside Services/Direct, Buffer and Fleet categories
  • Implements a rigorous and disciplined process for managing the outsource services supplier base including leading periodic reviews, monitoring and managing supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, technology, service, and leadership), managing supplier relationships, performing root cause analysis and resolution, developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans, and collaborating with engineering to align technology roadmaps
  • Leads a collaborative multi-site, cross-functional outsource services team to analyze spend, develop actionable spend management strategies, implement spend management strategies and proactively manage the supply base within the assigned components
  • Develops and implements spend management strategies including services supplier assessments and rationalization, negotiation for best total cost of ownership, supplier diversity, continuous improvement, and applicable internal & external collaboration
  • Leads negotiation and completion of contracts with services strategic and preferred suppliers to maximize benefits across NCR Atleos
  • Establishes a strong network and fosters collaboration with customers, suppliers, key stakeholders, and commodity team members
  • Understands and monitors current commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/ capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges
  • Guides the selection, development, and management of Strategic Suppliers to meet commodity cost and performance goals, with emphasis placed on ability to identify cost targets for relevant technology and product roadmaps
  • Supporting Cash management strategies
  • Has excellent Excel and Power-point skills – can analyse large amounts of data and produce executive dashboards

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is considered an asset
  • BA/BS undergraduate degree preferably in Management, Business (with emphasis in Supply Chain Management), Operations Management, Economics or other technical discipline (i.e., EE, ME, QE, IE) or an MBA with Procurement experience
  • At least 8 to 10 years of progressive services and/ or indirect category management experience; including five or more years of supplier evaluation/assessment, purchasing, sourcing, general finance, experience with demonstrated competency in strategic sourcing
  • Strong forecasting, negotiations, and contract management skills; including a working understanding of contractual terms and conditions and risk mitigation
  • Understanding of the legalities of ethical purchasing behaviours and the ability to work with Legal on assuring those aspects
  • Ability to indirectly influence and lead cross-organizational and/or cross-functional teams, including a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally (e.g., service account teams) at all organizational levels and/or with outside professionals
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving/trouble-shooting, communications, presentation, and problem-solving/trouble-shooting skills
  • Effective time/resource management and project management skills/capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel
  • Flexibility when it comes to working hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or other related discipline or an MBA with Procurement experience
  • 10 or more years of solid corporate supply chain, procurement, quality, operations, and/or process management experience, including at least eight or more years’ experience with supplier evaluation/assessment, purchasing, sourcing, logistics, general finance, and/or operations encompassing the entire supply chain from sub-supplier to customer etc.
  • Strategic planning and change management skills.
  • APICS or ISM Certification (e.g., CPIM, CIRM, CSCM, C.P.M.) or local country equivalent
  • Working knowledge of and experience with ERP systems
