QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
  • At least 4 years of working experience in the agriculture field, plant protection, and Integrated Pest
  • Management (IPM).
  • Ability to build trust, motivate, and work with women.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Very good organizational, interpersonal, communication, training, and facilitation skills.
  • Very good IT skills.
  • Good reporting skills.

The position

BACKGROUND
The Om Habibeh Foundation (OHF) is an Egyptian non-profit organization established in 1991 under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Solidarity. OHF is the implementation agency for the Aga Khan Foundation Egypt and is an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network of organizations and was founded by Om Habibeh Mohamed Shah Aga Khan to contribute to and support local communities in the governorate of Aswan in areas including health care, education, and providing income for deprived communities through long-term development activities. OHF works in the following areas: Continuing Education, Civil Society, Agriculture and Food Security, Economic Inclusion, Women Empowerment and Early Childhood Development.

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

The agronomist will undertake the implementation of all technical activities in the targeted villages as set out in the activities plan in cooperation with the project team. The agronomist will work closely with the Project Officer to ensure solid implementation and results for the project. Moreover, the agronomist will work on raising awareness of different communities in Aswan regarding the impacts of climate change and enhancing climate resilience.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Tasks

  • Orient women beneficiaries and facilitators on project objectives and activities
  • Ensure effective coordination between agricultural consultants, facilitators, and beneficiaries
  • Ensure proper formation of women groups and development of seasonal agricultural plans

Supervision & Performance Management

  • Supervise and monitor the performance of agricultural facilitators
  • Develop structured follow-up plans for facilitators and beneficiaries
  • Assess facilitators’ performance and provide continuous guidance

Field Implementation & Technical Support

  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to all project beneficiaries
  • Provide hands-on technical support and agricultural advisory services
  • Support home gardening initiatives including composting, irrigation, and crop management

4- Support and follow up the whole implementation process of the Livestock interventions

Training & Capacity Building

  • Design comprehensive training plans tailored to beneficiaries’ needs
  • Develop scientific and practical training content
  • Deliver training sessions across all targeted villages

Economic Empowerment & Community Engagement

Climate Resilience & Sustainability

  • Assess climate change impacts on agricultural production
  • Implement climate-resilient agricultural strategies

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit monthly financial entitlements for all facilitators
  • Handle advances, settlements, and financial documentation in compliance with organizational procedures

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Contribute to quarterly and annual project reports
  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving project data

Community Awareness & Social Impact

  • Support behavior change within communities, especially regarding women’s participation in agriculture.
  • Strengthen community engagement and trust.
