The site nurse ensures the health and well-being of workers on the site. He or she provides first aid, follows up on incidents and injuries, participates in health and safety prevention activities and contributes to maintaining a safe work environment that complies with regulatory and organizational requirements.
This position requires a high degree of mobility throughout Quebec. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel and work at various construction sites based on operational requirements. Project assignments may change depending on current and future project needs.
- Medical Care and Procedures
• Provide first aid and emergency response on the construction site;
• Assess the health of workers following incidents, accidents or illnesses;
• Determine the level of care required and coordinate, as required, transportation to appropriate medical services;
• Ensure the medical follow-up of workers who have suffered an incident or injury. - Case management and administrative follow-up
• Document medical interventions in accordance with legal requirements and internal procedures;
• Ensure the maintenance and confidentiality of medical records;
• Produce the required reports following incidents, accidents or treatments administered;
• Participate in event investigations and analysis in collaboration with the OHS team. - Prevention and health promotion
• Contribute to the development of a culture of prevention on the construction site;
• Educate workers on good health, hygiene and injury prevention practices;
• Participate in OHS meetings, site inspections and risk analyses;
• Identify situations that may have an impact on the physical or psychological health of teams and recommend preventive measures. - Coordination and support to operations
• Maintain inventory of medical equipment, first aid supplies and emergency equipment;
• Ensure that first aid stations and medical equipment remain compliant and operational;
• Participate in the development and updating of the site's emergency measures.
• Contribute to the development of a culture of prevention on the construction site;
• Educate workers on good health, hygiene and injury prevention practices;
• Participate in OHS meetings, site inspections and risk analyses;
• Identify situations that may have an impact on the physical or psychological health of teams and recommend preventive measures.
This role could be for you if you have
• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in nursing;
• Member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ);
• Experience in emergency care, occupational health, industrial or on-site settings (strong asset);
• Experience in the construction sector or large industrial projects is an asset;
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills in emergency situations;
• Ability to work independently in a remote and fast-paced environment;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Hold a valid driver's license;
• Deterning the ASP construction card, an important asset;
• Connaissance intermédiaire de l’anglais, oral et écrit, afin d’interagir occasionnellement avec les fournisseurs et les collègues à l’échelle nationale. Doit être en mesure de rédiger des communications et réviser des documents en anglais;
• High geographical mobility;
• Availability to work on rotating schedules on site.
