Assistant Director of Human Resources

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion HR transformation and build HR capabilities as part of the HR office leadership team, with a strong focus on operational excellence and service delivery.
  • Oversee the full spectrum of HR operations for assigned client groups, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and quality service across the university.
  • Lead and mentor an HR team, providing coaching, performance guidance, and professional development to build a high-performing and service-oriented function.
  • Serve as a trusted HR partner to senior leaders, providing professional advice and practical solutions on a wide range of HR matters,
  • Provide dedicated HR support and guidance to multiple subsidiary organizations, including entities in the Chinese Mainland, ensuring alignment with local labor laws, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting cross-functional partnerships and a positive organizational culture.
  • Work closely with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to attract, deploy, develop, and retain top talent for the university.

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 15 years of HR experience, ideally in HRBP Lead roles with progressive full lifecycle HR management experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in people management with a proven track record of developing HR talent.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills, business understanding, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in English and advanced skills in business applications such as the Microsoft Office suite and human resources information systems.

(Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
