The root cause engineer is the responsible to perform the first level analysis for conditions related with the electrical and electronic components in Stellantis automotive systems at vehicle, system and component levels.

The environment where the engineer will be working are mainly Stellantis assembly plants, vehicle yards, automotive system hardware in the loop setups, rolling benches, plywood bucks, and other properties used for development, as well as customer vehicles and production vehicles.

Provide guidance and lead the technical discussions with both the technical and management teams, organize meetings looking for the proper condition disposition with the solving team.

Ensure the tracking and final solution implemented at plant until clean point is provided.

In the early development phases, The SWAT root cause engineer, should be able to collect the diagnostic data required to process the product through the plant system and interface with the manufacturing, IT and Vehicle Process Engineering, Vehicle Production, and Quality teams.

The swat engineer will participate in tasks to prepare the plant to build and process prototype vehicles, provide guidance and troubleshoot capacity for the electrical end of line process at the assembly plants, with focus on "issue contention for next vehicle" philosophy.

The swat root cause engineer will use the tracker tool for the issues found on the early development stages of the properties used to validate the systems and continue tracking the issues as they evolve during the different phases from Mule, PWB to vehicle launch.

The Engineer will support a variety of launch activities at assembly plants and pilot plants, conduct repairs as prove of concept, perform customer audit testing, participate in management update meetings, investigate problems found on early prototype engineering vehicles and coordinate interim and long-term solutions with the component releasing engineers and its management.

Qualifications

1 to 3 years of experience in automotive industry.

Ability to properly define a problem.

Clear understanding of mechanics, electricity, electronics, and thermodynamics.

Hands on experience resolving hardware problems on electrical machines, electrical systems, vehicles, ECUs, or development benches.

Able to lead and organize his day to day priorities, according to pilot build schedules, problems found, and due process for issue disposition.

Excellent written and oral communication.

Medium to advanced programing skills.

Previous understanding of automotive diagnostics based in DTCs.
