Finance Director (Data Centre)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Finance Director to lead our finance and accounting operations. In this role, you will be a key business partner to the executive team, responsible for driving financial strategy, overseeing comprehensive financial planning and analysis (FP&A), managing risk, and ensuring the accuracy of all financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can balance day-to-day operational accounting with high-level strategic foresight to support our company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership & FP&A

  • Lead the annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Partner with department heads to analyze financial data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to improve operational performance and profitability.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports to the executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Evaluate financial risks and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations for capital investments, M&A activities, or new market expansions.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with [GAAP/IFRS] standards.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage and optimize the company's financial systems, ERP software, and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and data integrity.

Cash Management & Treasury

  • Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, working capital, and treasury functions to ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Oversee accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and payroll functions.
  • Manage relationships with external financial institutions, banks, and investors.

Compliance, Audit, & Risk Management

  • Establish, implement, and monitor robust internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Coordinate and act as the primary liaison for annual external and internal audits.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations and filings.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Hire, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth within the department.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA) or an active CPA/CMA designation is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3–5 years in a senior management or director-level role.
  • Technical Skills: * Deep understanding of [GAAP/IFRS] and financial modeling.
    • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders clearly.
    • Proven leadership skills with a track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
