Project Manager - Aftermarket

As a Project Manager within the Aftermarket Projects team, you will manage large, technically complex aftermarket projects, primarily involving drilling equipment recertifications (SPS), upgrades and automation projects. You will own the complete project lifecycle—from project initiation and planning through site execution and After-Action Review - ensuring projects are delivered safely on schedule and in close collaboration with customers and internal teams.

This role is based in Kristiansand, Norway, with regular domestic and international travel. During project execution you will work on-site at customer facilities, shipyards or offshore rigs, while day-to-day project activities are office-based.

You will serve as the central coordination point for each project, bringing together engineering, planning, field service, supply chain, sales and customers to ensure successful execution. The role requires both strong technical credibility and excellent interpersonal skills, as you will regularly communicate with customers, rig crews, field service technicians and senior management during demanding project situations.

  • Lead and manage projects run by Aftermarket Projects group, ensuring successful project delivery.

  • Oversee all project phases, including quoting, planning, on-site execution, and final documentation.

  • Maintain strong communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure timely and accurate project progress updates, providing regular reports and status updates.

  • Manage project resources effectively, including equipment, personnel, and budgets.

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges, implementing appropriate solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project integration and alignment.

  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team, ensuring high-quality work.

  • Represent NOV professionally and promote a positive company image.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successful project deliveries including in-field execution.

  • Strong technical skills and in-depth knowledge of NOV equipment and its applications.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in project management.

  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as required by project needs.

  • A degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a diverse project team.
