Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Manage daily engineering and maintenance activities across the resort.
- Supervise engineering staff, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Project & Facility Management
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate renovation, repair, and capital improvement projects.
- Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
Budget & Resource Control
- Assist the Director of Engineering in preparing and managing departmental budgets.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement sustainability initiatives.
- Control inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
Team Leadership & Development
- Train, mentor, and motivate engineering staff to maintain high performance standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Support career development and succession planning within the department.
Guest & Operational Support
- Collaborate with other departments to address engineering-related needs.
- Respond promptly to guest concerns regarding facilities and maintenance.
- Ensure minimal disruption to guest experiences during engineering works.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in engineering management within a hotel or resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, projects, and vendor relationships effectively.
