NYU Langone Health Rusk Rehabilitation is seeking a board-qualified/certified, musculoskeletal physiatrist to join the Rusk Rehabilitation care team in anoutpatient practice.
The successful candidate will have expertise in the nonoperative evaluation and management of musculoskeletal and spine conditions and will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with acute, subacute, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders. The physician will work collaboratively with colleagues across Rusk Rehabilitation, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Radiology, and other clinical services to optimize functional outcomes and facilitate coordinated care throughout the NYU Brooklyn health system.
The position will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of common musculoskeletal conditions, including neck pain, shoulder and upper-extremity disorders, low back pain, hip pain, and knee pain. Responsibilities include comprehensive history and physical examination, diagnostic evaluation, perform electromyography, imaging interpretation, development of individualized treatment plans, patient education, therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation recommendations, and appropriate use of medications and nonoperative interventions, including in-office procedures.
In addition to general musculoskeletal practice, the physician will participate in specialized rehabilitation services, including a Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinic and a wheelchair and seating clinic. The physician will also participate in the academic mission of the department, including teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as quality improvement and other departmental initiatives.
Qualifications
Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. A current, active, and unrestricted Medical Doctorate (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) license to practice in New York and a current DEA license will be required upon assuming the position.
Candidates should also have a demonstrated interest in academics, teaching, research, and quality improvement, with a commitment to educating residents, medical students, and other members of the rehabilitation care team.
