Required Qualifications:

Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and four (4) years of experience working with children.
OR a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science.
Requires mental flexibility, emotional stability, personal maturity, and creativity in dealing with difficult situations.
Serve as a liaison with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), local school districts, and other external partners. 
Develop, monitor, and manage program and grant budgets, including analyzing financial data, verifying expenditures, and ensuring proper account coding. 
Lead grant administration, including grant writing, documentation, data entry, reporting, and compliance. 
Prepare and submit required state and federal reports, including reports for CDE, DHS, Title I, Free & Reduced Lunch, and other program requirements. 
Manage department projects and timelines, including planning and implementing special projects for school administration. 
Prepare and edit professional documents, including correspondence, reports, manuals, memoranda, and informational materials. 
Maintain confidential records and files in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements. 
Support staff onboarding and training by orienting new employees to department policies, procedures, and office practices. 

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing a variety of services which relieve the school administrator of administrative details. Administrative specialists have greater responsibility in a majority of assigned duties including managing events, administrative projects, performing research, monitoring budget expenditures, preparing reports, and drafting correspondence. They train employees in policies, programs and systems.

Pay Range: $22.00 – $25.00 an hour paid bi-weekly based off experience with youth and education.

Shift: 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:

Requires mental flexibility, emotional stability, personal maturity, and creativity when dealing with difficult situations.
Uphold the mission, values, policies, and procedures of RiseUP.
Serve as a liaison with the Colorado Department of Education (CDE), local school districts, and other external partners.
Develop, monitor, and manage department and grant budgets, including analyzing financial data, making budget recommendations, maintaining budget records, verifying expenditures, and ensuring proper account coding.
Lead grant administration, including grant writing, documentation, data entry, reporting, and compliance.
Maintain systems for monitoring department projects, grant activities, and timelines.
Prepare and submit required department, state, and federal reports, including reports for CDE, DHS, Title I, Free & Reduced Lunch, and other program requirements.
Gather, compile, and analyze program data, including calculating descriptive statistics.
Plan and carry out special projects for school administration.
Compose and edit correspondence, memoranda, manuals, reports, handouts, and other professional materials.
Maintain confidential records and files in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Orient and support new staff on department policies, procedures, and office practices.
Direct daily office workflow and recommend changes to improve efficiency and streamline operations.
Determine computer equipment and administrative support needs for the department/program.
Track program participants to ensure program requirements are met.
Assist with department/program marketing efforts.
Recommend classes, workshops, training sessions, and community service programs based on program needs.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

QualificationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft Office.
Valid Colorado Driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Satisfactory Central Registry and CBI record check.
Ability to do simple math calculations and analyze data.
Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure while dealing with a variety of emotions and frustrations.
Requires scheduling flexibility, including being on-call.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to communicate effectively with respect and tact to give, receive, and analyze information, formulate plans, prepare materials.
Certification in crisis management-Safety Care.

Physical and Mental Demands:

Requires sufficient range of physical strength, endurance, and mobility to assist with food preparation.
Requires adequate range of hearing and vision to properly supervise students.
Requires mental flexibility, emotional stability, personal maturity, and creativity in dealing with difficult situations.
Successful completion of the organization’s crisis intervention training Safety Care, which includes restraints.
