POSITION: Student Assistant Team (SAT) Leader

Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SALARY: $1,000.00 per year

EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by the principal.

JOB SUMMARY: The person employed for this position will coordinate and oversee the Student Assistance Team Program and will be responsible for the implementation of this process.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedule SAT meetings.
• Assist in chairing SAT meetings.
• Notify parents and school personnel of scheduled meetings.
• Record interventions and student goal progress.
• Document meetings and submit to the County SAT Coordinator in a timely manner.
• Ensure a representative has been contacted from the Special Education Department to refer a student to the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team when appropriate.
• Assist in accumulating SAT documentation to send to the Special Education Department for consideration of special designed instruction services.
• Follow policies and procedures regarding the overall functions of the intervention process.
• Other duties assigned by the Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The person hired for this position must be fully certified in a program/content area.
