Your Next Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for a Casual Grounds & Maintenance Officer to join our team at our Cains Coconut Holidays site, working Monday to Friday from 4pm - 8pm. Enjoy weekday hours that leave your mornings and weekends free.
Reporting to the Park Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping the park looking beautiful, safe, and welcoming — ensuring guests enjoy a clean, well-maintained environment every day.
Cairns Coconut Holidays offers a tropical holiday experience, with resort-style facilities, lush surroundings, and easy access to Cairns’ top attractions.

In this Role, You’ll
• Complete scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance across accommodation, amenities, facilities and shared areas.
• Diagnose maintenance issues and carry out general repairs, including basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, fixtures, lighting, fencing, BBQs and equipment.
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests, provide practical solutions and escalate licensed trade work when required.
• Conduct routine inspections and safety checks, identify hazards, report damage or incidents, and help ensure the site remains compliant and secure.
• Maintain tools, equipment, plant rooms and maintenance areas, keeping them safe, organised and ready for use.
• Support the wider team with site presentation and grounds tasks when needed, particularly during busy periods.

You’re Likely a Match If You
• Have hands-on experience in general maintenance, facilities, building services, handyman work or a similar practical role.
• Are confident troubleshooting issues and completing a broad range of repairs safely and to a high standard.
• Understand workplace health and safety, safe use of tools and chemicals, and when work must be referred to a licensed trade.
• Are organised and proactive, with the ability to prioritise urgent requests while staying on top of planned maintenance.
• Communicate clearly and build positive relationships with residents, guests, contractors and your team.
• Are reliable, safety-focused and comfortable completing physical, hands-on work both indoors and outdoors.
• Hold a current C class driver licence.
You’re someone who brings energy, ideas, and a genuine passion for making a difference. You love working with people, solving problems, and creating moments that matter.
