Our client is a global engineering, procurement, and construction company specializing in high-tech facilities, particularly for semiconductor manufacturing.

Job Summary

This role supports key customers in front-end semiconductor manufacturing, focusing on electrical system design and engineering solutions. The Electrical Engineer will maintain client relationships, conduct feasibility studies, and develop comprehensive technical proposals and designs in collaboration with subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers in front-end semiconductor manufacturing, understanding their needs for ongoing and future projects.
  • Support feasibility studies and concept design for semiconductor fabs based on customer and manufacturing requirements.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver best-in-class engineering solutions, prioritizing safety, quality, and schedule.
  • Support the development of off-site manufacturing strategies for Electrical Systems with SMEs.
  • Prepare technical proposals in response to RFPs and RFQs.
  • Develop Electrical System Designs and Specifications, including:
  • Defining system and equipment sizes/capacities.
  • Developing system and redundancy concepts.
  • Designing power (emergency) generation and distribution.
  • Planning electrical distribution routing, space allocation, and layout.
  • Selecting system equipment.
  • Creating system schematics, single line diagrams, room layouts, and elevation concepts.
  • Detailing power distribution to facility and process tools.
  • Identify value-engineering options during concept and detailed design phases.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Process, and Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) engineering teams for integrated design solutions.

Requirements

  • Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional or Chartered Engineer (Preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of Electrical Design and Construction experience in a high-tech industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience in front-end semiconductor manufacturing fab projects.
  • Sound knowledge of engineering design and constructability checks for Electrical Systems in Advanced Technology Facilities, including:
  • High voltage and low voltage systems.
  • Busway systems.
  • Static and dynamic UPS systems.
  • Emergency power generation.
  • General electrical installation.
  • Power system studies (e.g., ETAP, EasyPower), network flow analysis, and relay settings.
  • Knowledge of local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience in integrated BIM modelling for multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Understanding of project management principles and practices.
  • Good knowledge of Design for Safety principles and their application.
