Operational Excellence Engineer

Job Summary:

NOV is looking for an Engineer, Operational Excellence to join our Fiber Glass Systems team in Sohar, Oman. This role will lead site-level operational excellence and quality control activities, supervise the QC team, and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, RCA and CAPA methodologies.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, action trackers, and management reports.
  • Lead and support the daily activities and development of the QC team.
  • Ensure incoming, in-process, final product, and dispatch inspections meet customer and quality requirements.
  • Manage NCRs, corrective actions, inspection records, calibration controls, and quality documentation.
  • Support QMS activities and internal, external, customer, and supplier audits.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, HSE, and Quality teams to improve processes and product quality.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in quality, operational excellence, manufacturing, inspection, testing, or process improvement.
  • Experience with quality control, RCA/CAPA, NCR management, inspection planning, data analysis, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating a technical team.
  • Knowledge of QMS, Lean/CI tools, KPI tracking, document control, calibration, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong reporting/presentation skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Preferred

  • Experience in fiberglass, composites, pipe manufacturing, oilfield equipment, or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Power BI, Minitab, ERP/MES, or quality management systems.
  • Arabic language skills and local market experience are an advantage.
