Wood is recruiting for a Senior Piping Engineer to join its Projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and Detail design scopes of work. In this role, you will be responsible to execute the activities and processes associated with Mechanical and Piping Engineering at NGLE Project, under TL scope. Apply and expand hands-on experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, commissioning and Operation in Oil and Gas industry. Responsible for supporting and executing general engineering activities directly linked to Mechanical engineering.
Position is based in Muscat, Oman for one year assignment duration.

Typical responsibilities

  • Apply Mechanical Engineering piping practices, standards, and design codes in similar project.
  • Piping Engineering experience in downstream based petrochemical industry.
  • Piping Engineering design experience into different project phases (FEED and EPC).
  • Challenge the project design assumptions and strive to bring more value to the project (value engineering)
  • Provide innovative solutions to overcome project challenges including cost and schedule while still maintaining compliance to the design codes.
  • Assist Mechanical engineers in delivering and reviewing engineering deliverables.
  • Compile information from contractor reports; evaluate and analyze compiled information using Mechanical Engineering standards and codes.
  • Provide directions and actively participate in the engineering reviews and meetings and take lead when required.
  • Contribute to record the meetings and discussions
  • Coordinate, prepare, and make a recording of engineering reviews as assigned by the Lead Mechanical Engineering Static.
  • Follow up on the turnover of the Mechanical engineering documents.
  • Participate in equipment selection and procurement process.
  • Attend workshop and site inspection of Mechanical facilities as the plan permits.
  • Attend FAT and SAT of equipment as required.
  • Inspect project site to monitor HSE, progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications and project standards.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on certain subjects as the project develops.
  • Other relevant duties as requested from time to time.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of relevant position
  • Engineering Degree in mechanical with relevant certification
  • Experience in refinery and petrochemical projects preferred
