IMEG is hiring a Surveying New Graduate in Manassas, Virginia, to provide surveying assistance under the leadership of a Survey Coordinator or Land Surveyor. In this entry-level role, you will support land surveying duties while applying surveying principles and practices across field and office work.
You will contribute to survey computations, data management, mapping, field support, and quality control while working with survey staff, CAD Techs, clients, and coworkers. This opportunity supports survey, SUE, and public-sector work and offers hands-on experience that helps build your expertise from day one.

What You'll Do
· Perform survey support for construction stakeout and boundary, topographic, and as built surveys
· Research historic maps, land records, previous surveys, and land title reports
· Assist with boundary reductions and mapping and topographic field reductions in CAD and survey software
· Download, maintain, and verify project survey data, manage the survey database, and review processed data collection and field notes for quality control
· Assist with survey computations, staking and control exhibits, and survey crew instructions for construction staking and field survey projects
· Support the operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors, and other survey equipment
· Serve as a survey field technician as requested to complete survey field work
· Assist CAD Techs in preparing plans and plats describing in detail the surveys performed
· Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers
· Operate a company vehicle and observe safety and security procedures

· Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required

Required Skills/Abilities
· Work to gain or advance knowledge of land surveying operations, computations, principles and practices
· Work to gain understanding or advance ability to read and interpret engineering plans and construction documents
· Knowledgeable with on-site office operation, office workflow processes and problem-solving techniques
· Work to gain understanding of survey operations and identification of potential problems
· Knowledgeable with AutoCAD C3D, survey, GPS, MS Office software
· Possesses oral and written communication skills
· Ability to communicate with clients, officials, contractors, coworkers and professionally represent IMEG
· Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
· Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays
Preferred
· Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

· Survey and SUE-focused civil team across DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland
· Subsurface utility engineering, ALTA/as-builts, and construction surveying for data center and federal clients
· Project experience including MWAA, NAVFAC, Pentagon-area work, and major data center campuses
· Strong education and municipal activity including Leesburg-area school projects
· Recent work includes MWAA E-Line Sanitary Sewer, Government; QTS Manassas Data Center ALTA, Data Center; and Leesburg Elementary Renovation Survey, Education.

State of Virginia Pay Range: $20.00–$22.00 per hour
The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
