This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by engaging, training, and supporting prospective foster and adoptive parents while helping strengthen the network of licensed families who care for children in our community.
Work Schedule: General working hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. However, the position is required to work flexible hours each week as pre-determined by the supervising manager to ensure accommodation to families served.
Other Position Information: This position is subject to reallocation contingent upon funding, agency needs and client population and are subject to perform work during emergency or disaster situations as required and may be required to staff shelter overnight.

Examples of duties
As a Foster Home Licensing Social Worker, you will:
- Engage and build relationships with prospective foster and adoptive parents.
- Provide training and instruction to prospective foster and adoptive families.
- Serve as a liaison between social work staff and licensed foster parents when needed.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, clients and their families, and civic, medical, social, and religious organizations.
- Train or provide guidance to lower-level social workers, students, and/or interns.
- Apply social work principles, techniques, and practices to individual, family, group, and community needs.
- Establish rapport with clients and conduct psychosocial assessments and evaluations.
- Collaborate with families, professionals, and community partners to support positive outcomes for children.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an appropriately accredited institution; OR
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; OR
- Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint Experience).
License/Credentials: Possession of a valid N.C. driver's license is required for this position and maintaining a driving record in accordance with Alamance County policy.
