Thompson First Group is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountat for a temporary assignment with a client located in Pennsauken, NJ.
This position will provide temporary support to the client's finance team during an upcoming maternity leave. The selected candidate will ideally begin prior to January 2027 to allow sufficient time for cross-training and transition. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial professional who is comfortable balancing day-to-day accounting responsibilities with financial analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day financial and accounting activities for the organization.
- Perform Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) responsibilities.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, and areas requiring additional review.
- Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, and related finance activities.
- Review financial information for accuracy and completeness.
- Work with internal departments to research and resolve accounting or financial discrepancies.
- Utilize SAP to access, review, and analyze financial information.
- Assist with reporting and analysis using Cognos, when applicable.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Provide additional analytical and accounting support to the Finance Director and finance team as needed.
- Quickly learn existing processes and procedures during the cross-training period to ensure a smooth transition during the leave period.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Financial Analyst, Senior Financial Analyst, or in a similar accounting/finance position.
- Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Strong financial analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in financial data.
- Experience working with SAP is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Cognos is a plus but not required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with members of the finance and accounting teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable working in a temporary/contract capacity.
- Ability to learn existing financial processes quickly and assume responsibilities following a cross-training period.
