Main goal

The IT Command Centre Manager leads the design, implementation and operation of the IT Command Centre (ITCC) for UEFA EURO 2028, acting as the central point of coordination, communication, escalation and incident management across all ICT streams, venues and tournament operations.

Key responsibilities

Planning and setup phase (February 2027 – May 2028):

  • Reviewing, consolidating and implementing the operational concept for the ITCC as well as governance, communication and escalation frameworks
  • Defining the ITCC's operating model, including staffing, support structure, operational readiness and requirements for the tournament operation centre (TOC)
  • Designing and deploying operational dashboards, reporting tools and service monitoring capabilities in line with tournament needs
  • Coordinating the handover of ICT facilities, infrastructure deployment, milestone tracking and operational rehearsal and simulation exercises

Tournament delivery and operation phase (June – July 2028):

  • Leading and coordinating ITCC operations across physical and virtual environments to support tournament activities
  • Managing daily operational reviews, service status reporting and stakeholder communications to ensure situational awareness
  • Supervising escalation processes and major incident management to minimise service disruption and operational impact
  • Monitoring service performance, operational risks, dashboard effectiveness and change management activities within the ITCC and TOC

Post-EURO:

  • Planning and coordinating the dismantling of the ITCC and IT elements of the TOC

Requirements

Experience:

  • From 4 to 6 years of experience in IT operations or service management or working in a command centre or network or security operations centre
  • Proven experience managing critical incidents and high-pressure operational situations
  • Experience in the sports industry or at major events would be a strong advantage

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area, or equivalent work experience
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience
  • Project management certification (e.g. PMI) would be a plus

Languages:

  • English: Proficient

Other requirements:

  • Relocation to Switzerland/France is expected

  • A solid understanding of networking, IP transport and information security principles

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, local IT teams, vendors, partners and consultants to deliver services in line with service-level agreements and operational performance targets
