Mine Underground Engineer, GBC DPM & Dust
- PT Freeport Indonesia
- Central Papua, Indonesia
- IDR 300,000,000 – IDR 500,000,000
Provide planning, technical and engineering support on monitor and controlling dust and Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) in GBC Mine, in order to maintain air quality in GBC Mine safe and healthy meet GOI regulation and minimize interference of dust and DPM to GBC mine production equipment. Ensure crew to conduct the UG Air Quality sampling and maintain all dust and DPM control throughout GBC Mines.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position:
Develop monthly, quarterly and yearly dust & DPM sampling program in the entire mine to map and find any contaminant sources during the mining process for all different occupational working environment as mandated in GOI regulation.
Engineer any control devices to reduce dust its sources or in the airborne. Assessing some technologies in the market relate with suppress the dust with water and any chemical suppressant agent can be implemented.
Engineer any control devices to reduce DPM exposure to meet good mining practice and healthier environment. Implementing new type engine to reduce DPM such as Tier 4 or Tier 4 Final engine; and diesel particulate filter installation. Forecast both engine upgrade and DPF installation along with heavy equipment overhaul program and new fleet. Closely review specially loader production record to know the filter plug life or how fast it replaced as one of success parameter of the program.
Work together with mine engineering to construct a robust water spray or water mist, to be installed mainly in all production panels; consist of good and dedicated water system, compressed air system and filtering the water quality meet with the mist system. Forecast the new mist installation and how to maintain the system works correctly. Approach any autonomous technology to operate water spray or mist.
Assess dust and DPM monitoring assessment by monthly, to monitor the dust and DPM profile in all working areas, assess the area impacted, number of people exposed estimation. Integrated with the reduction program and control in places.
Conduct and attend regular discussion with mine engineering and operation in order to give update on any air quality reduction plans and achievement. Ensure all mining projects supported properly and timely. Campaign dust and DPM reduction program to workforce.
Prepare AFE for new air quality engineering projects. Forecast and monitor all ventilation capital expenditures quarterly and yearly, so all projects execute and continue based on the schedule. Order all capital expenditure-based ventilation materials timely, to meet the lead time.
Forecast and monitor ventilation operating cost of the air quality reduction projects.
Develop, maintain, and update ventilation model for molding the air contaminant exposure in underground and use it as helicopter view how to reduce the existing exposure, monitoring it and predict the future exposure with the ongoing program.
Evaluate and work together with Maintenance Department on the pump and piping system maintenance program and implementation to ensure all mist or water spray perform properly and according to the specification
