Intern - Electroacoustic Simulation Correlation

As an Electroacoustic Simulation Correlation Intern, you will partake in evaluating the confidence level of electroacoustic simulations to predict measurement results for R&D electroacoustic design. As part of this role, you will be exposed to a variety of different functions, such as being presented the opportunity to conduct controlled parameter sweeps measurements and presentation of findings to R&D team through formal means.

What you will do

  • Design and build a repeatable measurement setup for hearing aid transfer functions
  • Run controlled parameter sweeps measurements
  • Quantify measurement uncertainty properly
  • Separate the airborne path from the structure-borne path, including vibration measurement (laser Doppler vibrometry) on the device housing
  • Build a Python/Matlab analysis pipeline: instrument control, data ingestion, transfer function and maximum-stable-gain extraction, and automated comparison against simulation output
  • Sit in on the FEM and lumped-element modelling work to understand the measurements they are being tested against
  • Present findings to the R&D team.

What you bring

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Acoustics fields
  • Familiarity with waves, vibration and linear systems
  • Comfort with transfer functions, complex impedance, and what phase actually means
  • Working competence in Python or MATLAB for data analysis
  • Careful, patient hands in the lab
  • Ability to commit full-time for at least 4 months.
