System Engineer

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical System Engineer with expertise in Windows Server and VMware to join our organization in Singapore. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise infrastructure while ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical acumen, systematic problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence.

• Design, deploy, and manage Windows Server environments across multiple versions (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022) in enterprise settings
• Administer and optimize VMware vSphere/ESXi infrastructure, including host configuration, virtual machine provisioning, and resource allocation
• Monitor system performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues using analytical approaches and document solutions systematically
• Manage Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and security configurations
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity
• Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Collaborate with IT teams to plan capacity, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements
• Perform regular security assessments and apply patches and updates in a controlled manner
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell scripting to improve operational efficiency

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in system or infrastructure engineering roles
• Advanced proficiency with Windows Server administration and management
• Demonstrated expertise in VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization technologies
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, TCP/IP, and network troubleshooting
• Experience with storage management and SAN/NAS technologies
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and system administration
• Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Experience implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and documentation practices

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
• Knowledge of Hyper-V or other virtualization technologies
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools
• Experience with Citrix or similar remote access technologies
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices and service management principles
• Python or other scripting language proficiency
• Experience in enterprise or mission-critical environments
