[What the role is]

School of Engineering - Lecturer (Electrical Engineering)

[What you will be working on]

• Deliver and develop lessons in general electronics, electrical and power engineering, including electrical installations, power systems, protection, testing & commissioning.
• Develop and conduct Continuing Education and Training (CET) for Specialist Diploma and Part-time Diploma.
• Supervise students’ final year projects and internships and reach out to various stakeholders such as industry partners and universities.
• Take part in academic research projects, R&D/Implementation projects or consultancy to the industry.
• Mentor and motivate students in their learning journey
• Involve in school activities such as service learning, outreach events, student overseas trips and similar activities.
• Undertake other administrative work related to the programme and student development activities.

[What we are looking for]

• Good fundamentals in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline, with strong fundamentals in electrical and power systems.
• Knowledge or experience in electrical installations, power systems, or facilities / energy management
• Familiarity with power engineering, electrical systems, electrical safety practices, and regulations used in real-world electrical work.
• Ability to apply readily available AI tools (including generative or agent-based AI) to support engineering work, teaching, or applied problem-solving in electrical, electronic, or communications domains.
• Experience in applied projects, research, development work, or industry collaboration related to communications, electrical engineering, smart systems, or AI-enabled solutions is desirable.
• Ability to guide students in projects, internships, or applied learning, and to mentor students in both technical and professional development.
• Willingness to contribute to school activities, industry engagement, outreach programmes, and administrative duties related to programme and student development.
• Genuine passion to share knowledge and interact with youths, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
