Regional Operations Manager

Role Purpose

To manage a team of Power/Fibre engineers in regional technical operations to deliver and maintain KPIs within SLA to all mobile and fixed customers, ensure effective coordination of all technical work and stakeholder engagement to drive accountability, and to ensure efficient delivery within the outsourced operations for all services.

  • Achieve and maintain agreed SLAs for fault and new service provision for the fixed and mobile network through effective work allocation and continuous trending to achieve improved performance and drive accountability and efficient delivery within the outsourced operations for all managed services
  • Ensure readiness of network to support business demand for growth in fixed & mobile subscribers. Lead in the Survey designs, implementation, and maintenance of the Backbone Fibre Network
  • Ensure workflow processes in both fixed and mobile spaces are optimised to ensure efficient delivery for all regional teams and supporting functions and also ensure effective change management within the region.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of allocated retained exchanges and data centre through proper management of routine maintenances and checks
  • Lead and drive operations and maintenance for O&M sites ensuring compliance to PM, CM, fuelling and tower preventative maintenance through outsourced vendors.
  • Full ownership of all network incident, ensuring proper stakeholder management, speedy restoration and avoidance of repeat outages.
  • Champion H&S and ensuring safe working environment with Zero fatality within the region
  • Technology function by tracking all changes and ensuring change management process is duly followed.

Who we are looking for (Qualifications, Competencies – Skills & Behaviors)

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Electrical/Electronic, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Telecom infrastructure deployment
  • Proficiency in Proficiency in AutoCAD or structural analysis software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, local structural standards and building codes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection projects
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues.

Nice-to-Have

  • Excellent understanding of mobile and fixed communications technologies, emerging technologies, and the local Ghanaian telecom market.
  • Good understanding of KPIs and service levels and processes to achieve and measures them.
  • Must be analytical, with high level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with excellent stakeholder management.
  • Good, managerial, stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills – to be able to influence team positively and work with stakeholders to achieve set targets.
  • Four (4) or more years of relevant working experience in the Mobile, Fixed, IP, Data Networks, Microwave, Power, and field operations and must be able to manage demand.
