YOUR NEW ROLE

The Senior Analyst provides expert-level application support, governance alignment, and technical oversight for NAB’s BlackLine platform as it expands to support enterprise-wide reconciliations. The role ensures platform stability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across business-as-usual (BAU) support and enhancement activities.

  • Application Support:
    Lead BlackLine application support activities, including incident resolution, defect triage, root cause analysis, and coordination with the vendor where required.
  • Enterprise Reconciliation Support:
    Oversee complex reconciliations and support the onboarding of new accounts and data feeds from upstream systems.
  • Governance & Compliance:
    Ensure alignment with NAB risk, control, and compliance frameworks, including audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting & Insights:
    Maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards, providing timely insights to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify opportunities for system enhancements, automation, and process improvements to uplift efficiency and control.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Act as a key liaison between Finance, Technology teams, and external vendors to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Knowledge Leadership:
    Mentor junior analysts and maintain accurate and up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and support documentation.
  • Audit Management:
    Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to the BlackLine platform.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Application Support Expertise:
    Proven experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment, with a strong understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Ownership & Mindset:
    Demonstrates a positive, solutions-focused approach when responding to incidents, challenges, and competing priorities. Takes ownership and drives issues through to resolution.
  • Finance & Systems Knowledge:
    Understanding of General Ledger processes and month-end close activities. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    Experience with BlackLine modules is highly desirable. SQL and Power BI knowledge are advantageous.
  • Support & Troubleshooting Skills:
    Ability to diagnose system issues, investigate reconciliation mismatches, analyse logs and integration errors, perform root cause analysis, and provide clear written responses to users.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management:
    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in plain language. Capable of working effectively with Finance teams, IT teams, and external vendors while managing multiple support requests.
  • Analytical & Process Skills:
    Strong problem-solving capability, ability to critically review financial data, suggest process improvements, and understand internal controls and compliance requirements.
  • Behavioural Attributes:
    Proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, effective communication, and a collaborative problem-solving approach.
