Job Description
We’re looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Full-Time Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, eager to learn and ready to build their career in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment.
You’ll play an important role in supporting the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, assisting with cooking and maintaining a clean and organised workstation. Working under the guidance of senior chefs, you’ll continue to develop your skills while contributing to smooth and efficient service.
Availability to work, AM, PM and overnight shifts is essential.
What You’ll Do (but not limited to):
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes across à la carte, buffet, banqueting and room service.
- Support daily mise-en-place and kitchen prep to ensure service runs smoothly.
- Prepare ingredients and cook basic dishes under the direction of senior chefs.
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to deliver consistent and high-quality meals.
- Follow direction from senior chefs while building your technical skills and kitchen knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support efficient service during busy periods.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about developing their culinary career and eager to contribute to a high-performing team within a premium hotel environment.
You’ll bring:
- Previous kitchen experience in a hotel or similar fast-paced environment.
- Exposure to à la carte service, highly regarded particularly for restaurant service.
- A solid understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to stay organised under pressure.
- A positive and team-focused attitude with clear communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, take direction and continuously improve.
- Availability to work evening shifts and overnight shifts is essentia
