What you’ll do:
Lead the delivery of high-value US–Australia tax advisory and compliance engagements, maintaining exceptional standards of technical quality, commercial insight and client service.
Advise on complex US individual and international tax matters, including residency, foreign investments, foreign pensions, foreign tax credits, trusts, companies and related information-reporting obligations.
Provide practical advice to high-net-wealth individuals, executives, family groups and privately owned businesses on cross-border structuring, transactions and other significant life or business events.
Serve as a trusted adviser to senior clients, translating complex tax rules into clear, actionable recommendations and coordinating multidisciplinary advice across jurisdictions.
Build and maintain strong relationships across the global network to deliver seamless solutions on complex cross-border matters.
Drive business development across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region by identifying market opportunities, developing propositions, leading proposals and deepening relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Contribute to the strategic direction, growth priorities, financial performance and risk management of the US Tax Advisory practice.
Monitor relevant US and Australian tax developments, evaluate client implications and lead the development of timely market insights and service responses.
Lead, coach and develop team members, creating a high-performance culture focused on technical excellence, collaboration, and professional growth.
Oversee engagement scoping, resourcing, economics, quality control and risk processes to support sustainable and profitable delivery.
What we’re looking for:
Extensive experience in US individual and international tax advisory and compliance, with a strong track record of leading complex cross-border engagements.
Deep technical knowledge of US tax matters affecting individuals with international interests, including foreign assets, pensions, trusts, companies and associated reporting requirements.
Demonstrated experience advising high-net-wealth individuals, executives, family groups and privately owned businesses.
Strong understanding of Australian tax issues that intersect with US tax obligations; experience involving Australian trusts and companies is highly regarded.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, taxation, finance, economics or law.
US CPA, Enrolled Agent, Legal qualification, Master of Taxation or comparable professional credentials are highly regarded.
Proven success in originating work, leading proposals, developing new service opportunities, and growing senior client relationships.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and retain high-performing teams while managing multiple complex priorities.
Exceptional judgement, analytical capability, and written and verbal communication skills.
Strategic and commercial mindset, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and shape practice priorities.
Client-focused approach grounded in integrity, sound judgement and commitment to quality.
Collaborative leadership style and the ability to mobilise multidisciplinary teams across borders.
Entrepreneurial outlook, with the energy to build new opportunities and strengthen market presence.
