UGL's Utilities Operations & Maintenance business helps keep electricity networks operating safely and reliably through long-term maintenance and operational programs.

Across Victoria, our teams support network owners including AusNet, Powercor and United Energy, delivering maintenance, fault response, infrastructure upgrades and network renewals. Our work helps ensure electricity is delivered safely and reliably to homes, businesses and communities every day.

This is a senior, autonomous commercial role where you'll partner with operational leaders, manage client relationships and drive strong commercial outcomes. We're open to candidates from utilities, infrastructure, construction, engineering, transport, rail and telecommunications environments who bring strong commercial capability and stakeholder engagement skills.

About the role

This is a hands-on, commercially focused position for someone who enjoys taking ownership and working closely with operational teams to solve problems and improve outcomes.

As the Senior Contracts Administrator, you'll be the key commercial partner for Victoria's Utilities O&M operations. You'll manage contract performance, support commercial decision-making, identify risks and opportunities, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to maximise value for both UGL and our clients.

We're looking for someone with strong commercial acumen who isn't afraid to ask questions, challenge assumptions when required and work through practical solutions. Success in this role comes from building trusted relationships, being proactive and confidently navigating complex commercial situations.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage head contracts and downstream subcontract arrangements.
  • Lead claims, variations, notices and contractual compliance activities.
  • Deliver forecasting, cost-to-complete assessments and monthly commercial reporting.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships and provide commercial advice that improves operational and client outcomes.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in contract administration or commercial roles within construction, infrastructure, engineering, transport, telecommunications, utilities or similar project environments.
  • Proven client-facing experience and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, operational teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong experience managing contracts, claims, variations, notices and commercial reporting activities.
  • Commercially astute, with the confidence to ask questions, challenge constructively and influence outcomes.
  • Solutions-focused, proactive and able to work autonomously to identify risks, resolve issues and deliver practical outcomes.
