The Opportunity
Join our team at BDA's Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services Capability as an Equipment Maintenance Specialist.
We're looking for skilled, driven individual to join the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) program at Swartz Barracks, Oakey, Queensland, to help keep these aircraft mission ready. In this role you will be responsible for co-ordination of support equipment and tooling to enable EC135 maintenance and flight activities. The successful candidate will ideally possess knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems and strong organizational skills. You will:
- Manage HATS Oakey Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Tooling
- Maintain all Support and Test Equipment (STE) in accordance with the item maintenance policy
- Carry out Tool box auditing
- Perform maintenance on GSE equipment
- Maintain and manage component and replacement part inventories
- Maintain a register of the GSE and STE equipment
- Work under limited supervision
What you will bring to BDA
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Previous experience in a mechanical trade or similar role, with aviation experience an advantage
Demonstrated knowledge of ERP MRO (cMRO) or equivalent Aviation Maintenance Management software applications is desirable
Demonstrated knowledge of BAMS or equivalent asset management software applications is desirable
Ability to troubleshoot, analyse, inspect, disassemble, rebuild, modify and test factory machinery and equipment as necessary using knowledge in areas such as mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Be able to use and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and advanced blueprints and schematics to maintain and repair equipment. Respond to requests for equipment repair
Have an ability to use various hand, power driven and specialty tools
Experience working in a safety critical environment
- Be an Australian Citizen to meet Defence security requirements
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a high tempo operating environment
High level of computer literacy
