About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Senior Grid Connections Engineer to join our growing Energy team. Working across major energy projects, you will play a key role in managing grid connection studies, technical assessments, compliance requirements and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful connection outcomes.
This role will suit a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex power system challenges, working collaboratively with project teams, and taking ownership of outcomes from concept through to delivery.
Your Responsibilities
- Support grid connection studies for large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.
- Prepare and coordinate technical submissions to network service providers and regulatory bodies.
- Undertake power system analysis and modelling using software such as PowerFactory, PSSE and PSCAD.
- Collaborate with primary and secondary engineering teams to develop integrated connection solutions.
- Assess compliance with market, regulatory and network requirements throughout project lifecycles.
- Engage with clients, consultants, utilities and key stakeholders to facilitate successful connection approvals.
- Provide technical advice and support during project development, design and delivery phases.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice engineering outcomes.
Your Skills & Experience
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Extensive experience within power systems, transmission, renewable energy, utilities or related infrastructure sectors.
- Strong experience delivering grid connection studies and navigating connection processes.
- Advanced proficiency in power system modelling tools, including PowerFactory, PSSE and PSCAD.
- Solid understanding of regulatory, compliance and connection requirements within the Australian energy market.
- Strong technical foundations in power systems engineering.
- Exposure to both primary and secondary electrical engineering disciplines.
- Background within an EPC environment is highly regarded; candidates from engineering consultancy environments will also be considered.
- Practical, delivery-focused approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
