Strategy is only useful when it translates into action.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and we may commence interviews during the recruitment process. We encourage you to apply early.
As Strategy Analyst, you’ll play an important role in helping Uniting turn enterprise strategy into clear priorities, aligned plans, credible reporting and practical action.
Sitting within the Strategy Office and reporting to the Head of Strategy, you’ll support strategic analysis, executive content, integrated planning, prioritisation, Board reporting and the operating rhythm that helps Uniting execute its strategy with clarity and confidence.
This role is suited to a strategy professional with 4+ years’ experience in strategy, planning, business analysis, consulting, transformation or related disciplines who is ready for greater enterprise exposure and responsibility.
You’ll work closely with the Strategy Execution Lead, Head of Strategy and senior stakeholders across Uniting to bring structure to complex issues, connect priorities and plans, and provide clear analysis and decision support.
What you’ll be doing
• Develop and support strategy papers, executive briefings and Board and Uniting Leadership Team materials.
• Synthesise qualitative and quantitative information into clear insights, recommendations and practical next steps.
• Support enterprise planning and prioritisation, including strategic initiatives, milestones, dependencies, owners and capacity.
• Support strategic workshops and discussions, helping surface trade-offs, test options and build alignment.
• Support reporting on strategic measures, significant projects, risks, issues and emerging signals.
• Undertake research, environmental scanning and options analysis to identify emerging risks, opportunities and trends.
• Build visibility of strategic matters and contribute to improving Strategy Office tools, processes and workflows.
What you’ll bring
• 4+ years’ experience in strategy, planning, business analysis, consulting, transformation or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear advice.
• Experience preparing executive-level content, presentations, reporting or decision-support materials.
• Strong stakeholder skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple perspectives and priorities.
• Confidence working through ambiguity, testing assumptions and constructively challenging when needed.
• Experience supporting strategic planning, business planning, reporting, performance management or governance.
• Professional maturity, initiative and the ability to work with increasing autonomy and enterprise exposure.
• Highly competent use of AI and contemporary productivity tools to improve analysis, content development, reporting and workflow efficiency.
A relevant tertiary qualification in business, strategy, public policy, planning, transformation or a related field is desirable.
Even better
Experience in a large, complex or frontline-focused organisation such as human services, healthcare, community services or government, along with exposure to strategic reviews, environmental scanning, options analysis, innovation or portfolio and program management.
