About the role

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurses to join our Emergency Department on a permanent full-time or part-time basis (minimum 0.5 FTE).

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment at Mater Hospital Springfields’ brand new Emergency Department, which opened in 2026 and features a total of 59 beds, including 52 adult beds and 7 paediatric beds. You will deliver exceptional patient care, work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families, all within a state-of-the-art facility designed to support high-quality, efficient care in a supportive environment.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900+access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. You will:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute and urgent conditions
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal clinical outcomes
  • Advocate for patients, ensuring their physical, emotional and spiritual needs are met
  • Collaborate closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams to coordinate care
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold confidentiality at all times
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, patient safety and risk management activities
  • Support the education and mentoring of students, graduates and less experienced staff
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain contemporary clinical knowledge

About you

You are a caring and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing team environment. You will demonstrate:

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in an acute care setting, ideally within an Emergency Department
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care and continuous improvement
  • Passion for professional development, learning and mentoring others
  • Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster
