Associate/Senior Associate, Corporate and Commercial Advisory

Located a stone’s throw from the bustling Riverside precinct, our highly regarded Corporate and Commercial Advisory team is looking to appoint a Senior Associate to work across a range of new and engaging matters. You will take ownership of your matters and drive them forward and expand your career across our Corporate and Commercial Advisory practice group.

You will be part of a dynamic team with direct access to dedicated Principals and that values contributions and fosters personal growth across all areas of corporate and commercial law, including

  • Mergers & acquisitions (M&A);
  • Corporate governance;
  • Capital raising;
  • Foreign investment;
  • Charities and not-for-profits;
  • Transport;
  • Intellectual property and digital law;
  • Taxation and private advisory;
  • Project financing; and
  • Aged care law.

Key Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Undertaking corporate and commercial matters including complex M&A transactions and structuring advice;
  • Drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements such as: shareholder agreements, sale and purchase agreements, service agreements and IP and licensing agreements;
  • Drafting technical advice areas across a wide range of practice areas;
  • Actively participating in client engagement and business development activities;
  • Managing client relationships and providing high-quality service to clients;
  • Mentoring and supervising the next generation of legal practitioners and assisting with team management; and
  • Working collaboratively with other practice areas in the firm.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years’ + post admission experience with experience across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.
  • A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering practical and commercially sound advice to clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and work collaboratively with other solicitors and support staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Commerce or accounting degrees will also be considered favourably.
