A Day In The Life with Uniting Aged Care
Role Responsibilities
As the Catering Assistant, you’ll be responsible for providing time efficient catering services to our residents to meet dietary needs and provide a person-centred approach to catering. In this role, you will:
• Communicate with the residents about their dietary needs, keeping them informed and involved.
• Collaborate with care staff to support residents’ individual dietary needs, including texture-modified meals and special diets.
• Maintain best practices in health, hygiene, sustainability, and safety within the kitchen and service.
• Drive the Uniting catering van to pick up and drop off key food deliveries when required.
What you’ll bring
• Hands-on experience in hospitality or food services – whether in catering, cooking or kitchenhand roles
• Certificate III in Hospitality or an equivalent qualification (highly desirable)
• Food Safety Certificate (Highly Desirable)
• Valid, current Australian drivers license whilst being comfortable driving a medium sized company van when required.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices and a passion for preparing quality, nutritious meals.
• Previous experience in aged care or hospital settings is a bonus.
• You’re empathetic, adaptable, and resourceful, with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
