• Permanent Part time vacancy
• Based in Manly
• 28 hours per week - can work across 4 or 5 days pw to suit you
At Uniting, we’re proud to support older Australians to live independently, safely and with dignity. We’re looking for a calm, organised and people-focused Village Manager to join our team on a permanent part-time basis – 28 hours per week split over 4 or 5 days as preferred.
This is a rewarding, community-facing role supporting the wellbeing and satisfaction of residents – and helping create a harmonious, well-run and welcoming village environment.
Your new role:
As the on-site Village Manager, you’ll be the friendly and capable go-to person for residents, staff and contractors. You’ll manage the day-to-day operations of the village, build strong relationships with residents, coordinate maintenance and service teams, and ensure that all compliance and safety requirements are met.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing respectful, person-centred service to all residential contract holders.
• Supporting residents’ wellbeing, independence, and sense of connection.
• Managing records, correspondence, and reporting using Uniting systems.
• Helping foster an inclusive, respectful, and harmonious village culture.
• Participating in budget planning, facilitating meetings with residents and supporting Village residents committee and sub-committees.
• Liaising with the Asset and Housing teams to coordinate maintenance and refurbishment works; and liaising with other stakeholders onsite including the Aged Care Team in the co-located residential aged care facility.
What you’ll need to succeed:
We’re looking for someone who brings the right attitude, presence and care to this important role – formal qualifications and experience are helpful, but not essential. If you’ve worked in a retirement living, housing or community-based environment – even in an administrative or support role – and you’re ready to step up, we’d love to hear from you.
To thrive as a Village Manager, you’ll need:
• A calm, level-headed and professional approach – you’re someone who brings harmony to a team and confidence to residents.
• Strong organisational and time management skills – you keep things running smoothly, even when juggling competing demands.
• Great communication and conflict resolution skills – you listen deeply, act respectfully, and resolve concerns with compassion and fairness.
• A warm, welcoming personality with a genuine desire to support older people to live well and independently.
• A willingness to learn – we’ll provide training and support to help you succeed, and to build on your existing experience.
Experience in retirement living, aged care, housing or community services will be well regarded, but is not essential if you bring a commitment to doing the role well.
What’s on offer:
• A deeply rewarding, community-focused leadership role.
• Competitive salary and access to NFP salary packaging – take home more of what you earn.
• Ongoing training, development and support from a values-led organisation.
• The opportunity to lead real change in housing access and equity for older Australians.
Your impact:
In this role, you’ll directly enhance the wellbeing of our residents – helping them live with confidence, comfort and choice in their later years.
Ready to shape the future of retirement living?
Please include a brief cover letter telling us why this role speaks to you, and how your skills or experience (formal or informal) would make you a great fit. Apply today to join a trusted, progressive organisation with a legacy of care, advocacy and action.
