Veterinary Referral Hospital (VRH) is seeking passionate and experienced Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Nurses to join our growing team. We have full-time and part-time opportunities available across day, evening, overnight, weekend, and public holiday shifts.

The Role

As an ECC Veterinary Nurse, you'll be involved in the care of a diverse caseload of emergency, medical, surgical, and neurological patients, managing cases from presentation and stabilisation through to ongoing intensive care and recovery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Emergency triage and patient stabilisation
  • ICU and critical care nursing
  • Hospital nursing and inpatient management
  • Anaesthesia monitoring and peri-operative support
  • Management of complex and challenging referral cases
  • Working collaboratively with specialists across multiple disciplines

You'll be supported by experienced ECC clinicians and nurses who are committed to mentoring, education, and helping you grow your skills and confidence.

About You

We're looking for a capable and compassionate nurse who brings:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' clinical nursing experience
  • Previous emergency, critical care, or referral hospital experience
  • Confidence monitoring general anaesthesia, including ECG, SpO₂, ETCO₂, and blood pressure
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • The ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
  • A genuine passion for Emergency & Critical Care
  • Availability to work across day, evening, overnight, weekend, and public holiday shifts
