We are seeking a Security Officer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting the Rooms function within our organisation. Role Overview:

Monitors and patrols assigned areas to provide a safe and secure environment for guests and employees while minimizing opportunities for loss or damage. Anticipates potential problems, responds to disturbances and emergencies, and enforces hotel policies. Delivers an Exceptional Memorable Experience (EME) through daily guest interactions.

Main Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain full knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Patrol assigned areas and monitor surveillance systems to ensure safety and security.
  • Anticipate and respond promptly to guest needs and emergencies.
  • Maintain positive guest relations and resolve complaints professionally.
  • Monitor access control, issue keys and radios, and maintain accurate records.
  • Check employee identification and monitor entry/exit procedures.
  • Inspect employee belongings when entering or leaving the property.
  • Escort employees and ensure proper authorization for restricted areas.
  • Investigate suspicious activity, incidents, and complaints; complete detailed reports.
  • Respond to emergencies, administer first aid/CPR, and coordinate with emergency services.
  • Enforce safety procedures and resolve hazards.
  • Monitor and document incidents such as theft, accidents, disturbances, and intoxicated guests.
  • Maintain daily logs and complete all required documentation.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all security and hotel information.
  • Provide security support for events, meetings, and banquet functions.
  • Conduct locker audits and assist with asset protection.
  • Communicate effectively via radio and telephone systems.
  • Coordinate with external authorities when necessary.
  • Perform any other related duties as may be required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Security Guard License
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR (preferred)
  • At least one (1) years’ experience in security, law enforcement, or a similar role.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality sector will be considered an asset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • Good observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up effectively.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local laws and regulations.
  • Understanding of fire safety and emergency procedures.
  • Familiarity with investigative methods.
