The IT Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, systems, and cybersecurity controls. The role ensures that IT services effectively support business operations while meeting performance, security, compliance, and cost-efficiency requirements.
Acting as the primary local IT reference, the IT Infrastructure Administrator provides technical leadership, supports end-users, manages IT projects, contributes to strategic planning, and serves as the liaison between the company and Telespazio Group IT organisations.
The position reports to the Space Projects and Operational Services – Business Unit Director
What is expected from you:
- IT Infrastructure Governance & Strategy
- Assess business and end-user needs, as well as quality, operational, and security requirements.
- Translate business requirements into IT solutions and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Design, maintain, and continuously improve the local IT infrastructure architecture in alignment with business objectives and Group standards.
- Advise management on IT strategy, technology evolution, infrastructure investments, and risk mitigation.
- Monitor emerging technologies and recommend improvements to systems, services, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, licensing, and corporate requirements.
- User Support & Service Delivery
- Provide technical support to end-users through telephone, e-mail, remote assistance, and face-to-face interventions.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
- Assist end-users in the effective use of IT equipment, systems, and applications.
- Deliver user guidance and training when required.
- Coordinate with external providers and Group IT teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.

- Document support procedures and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
- Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance
- Design, implement, operate, and maintain local IT infrastructure including servers, networks, endpoints, and associated services.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Manage backup, recovery, monitoring, and business continuity mechanisms.
- Perform infrastructure updates, upgrades, patch management, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, inventory records, system configurations, and operational procedures.
- Ensure the smooth operation of all IT services, including network services, endpoint management, printing services, e-mail systems, and security tools.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with legal, regulatory, customer, and Group requirements.
- Continuously assess and improve the security posture of systems, applications, and infrastructure (*).
- Ensure the effective operation of security solutions, including endpoint protection, access control, monitoring, backup, and recovery systems (*).
- Contribute to security audits, compliance assessments, and corrective action plans.
- Participate in the management of cybersecurity incidents and crisis situations involving complex infrastructure or software issues.
(*) TPZ BE relies on the Mother Company for a large part of the IT hardware and software assets. The marked items exclusively refer to the TPZ BE internally managed assets.
- Budget, Procurement & Supplier Management
- Support, manage, and monitor the company's IT budget.
- Support budget planning and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Coordinate supplier engagements and negotiations in collaboration with Supply Chain Management (SCM).
- Manage IT-related procurement activities, including purchase requests, purchase orders, contracts, licenses, equipment, and services.
- Ensure cost-effective acquisition and lifecycle management of IT assets.
- Group Integration & Collaboration
- Act as the primary interface with Telespazio Group IT organisations, coordinating with the BU Director on important decisions.
- Implement Group IT policies, standards, recommendations, and directives locally.
- Collaborate with Telespazio Group IT teams on infrastructure integration, transformation, and harmonisation initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in the company's on-call duty rota when required.
- Manage complex technical incidents and crisis situations affecting IT services.
- Perform additional duties consistent with the experience, expertise, and competencies required by the position.
- May be designated to act as Deputy Security Officer (DSO) in the absence of the Security Officer.
What you offer:
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a comparable role.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory or Entra ID, networking, endpoint management, backup and recovery, virtualization, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Practical knowledge of cybersecurity controls, vulnerability and patch management, access control, endpoint protection, incident response, and secure infrastructure configuration.
- Experience providing remote and on-site end-user support and managing incidents, service requests, technical documentation, and SLAs.
- Experience managing IT suppliers, licenses, assets, procurement activities, and budget-related processes.
- Proven ability to operate independently as a local IT point of contact while collaborating effectively with centralised Group IT functions.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, stakeholder-management, and organisational skills.
- Professional fluency in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is an advantage.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota and provide support outside standard working hours when required.
- Relevant Microsoft, networking, ITIL, or cybersecurity certifications are considered an advantage.
