POSITION SUMMARY:

The Actuarial Analyst supports actuarial reporting, reserve calculations, capital modeling, and regulatory requirements. The role involves producing and analyzing monthly and quarterly results, maintaining actuarial models and controls, supporting process improvements, and contributing to financial reporting across multiple reporting bases. As part of the Actuarial Student Program, the incumbent is expected to actively pursue professional actuarial qualifications through exam progression.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Support the preparation of financial reports, including reserve calculations, capital modeling, and regulatory filings (e.g., BSCR, US GAAP, Collateral Reporting).
  • Perform and update AXIS runs to produce results on both monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly collateral calculation for reinsurance cedents.
  • Providing analysis, including reserve movement and sensitivities, for various reporting basis such as Bermuda Economic balance sheet, US GAAP, Collateral.
  • Maintaining and improving Actuarial controls.
  • Analyze reinsurance data to identify trends and support actual vs expected analysis.
  • Assist in creating management reporting for US GAAP/Bermuda EBS/Collateral.
  • Help calculate reserves, liabilities, and other key financial metrics.
  • Participate in the automation and enhancement of actuarial processes and reporting tools.
  • Progress toward actuarial credentials through exam completion. This role is part of the Actuarial Student Program.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Or
  • Other bachelor’s degree with at least one Actuarial exam passed under SOA/IFOA.
  • Progress toward actuarial exams (SOA/IFoA) is preferred.
  • Past Actuarial Internship or Actuarial experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, R, VBA) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
