Technical Service Research Associate

You will become part of our Household Care Technical Service team, collaborating closely with colleagues in Technical Services to provide world-class technical support and innovative solutions to our team and customers in the Household Care space.

The Role & Your Impact:

As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for planning and executing your own work in accordance with Technical Service guidelines and communicating results. The role combines independent experimental work, data analysis, analytical method development, and technical interaction with cross-functional teams, customers, and other stakeholders.

You will contribute to projects by conducting experiments, evaluating trial data, generating insights, and identifying opportunities for further actions. The position also involves scientific challenges and regular interaction with teams across Latin America.

Your Key Responsibilities in this role:

  • Plan and execute your own work in accordance with Technical Service guidelines and communicate the results;
  • Work independently on assigned tasks, conduct experiments, evaluate trial data, draw conclusions, plan alternative actions, and provide insights to the Technical Service team;
  • Carry out experimental work using established methods to meet specific team and project goals;
  • Ensure that laboratory and equipment are operated according to recommended procedures and safety protocols;
  • Identify, evaluate, develop, and standardize analytical methods, including data validation and method documentation according to QMS standards;
  • Ensure that ingredients, chemicals, laboratory consumables, and enzyme samples are used according to established procedures;
  • Prepare testing materials, testing chemicals, and reagents according to prescribed procedures;
  • Help address customer concerns related to analytical methodologies;
  • Represent Novonesis towards customers and other stakeholders on technical and project-related issues and trainings;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in projects involving scientific and technical complexity.

What you'll need to be successful in this role:

  • University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or a related scientific field;
  • Relevant knowledge of laboratory protocols;
  • Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), including relevant capabilities in statistics and data analysis;
  • Background in analytical chemistry and/or biochemistry;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability and interest in providing technical training, both internally and externally;
  • Collaborative mindset and strong ability to work as part of a team;
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and/or English, as the role involves regular interaction with colleagues across Latin America;
  • Availability to work on-site at the Araucária office.

Additional Skills & Interests We Value:

  • Experience with enzyme applications in Household Care products;
  • Exposure to AOAC and IUPAC analytical methods;
  • Experience with analytical method development, standardization, data validation, and documentation according to QMS standards;
  • Interest and ability to interact with customers and other stakeholders on technical and project-related matters.
