Risk Manager - CySEC

We are looking for an experienced Risk Manager to join a CySEC regulated entity of the group. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company’s market, liquidity, credit and operational risk framework, ensuring that risks are effectively identified, monitored and controlled in line with regulatory requirements and the company’s risk appetite.
This is a hands-on role for someone with strong industry experience and a solid understanding of trading and risk management environments.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and maintain the company’s overall risk management framework, ICT oversight
• Monitor market, liquidity, credit, counterparty and operational risks
• Monitor trading activity, exposure, leverage, margin levels and client risk
• Analyse and manage the company’s exposure across different instruments and liquidity providers
• Establish and monitor risk limits, thresholds and escalation procedures
• Conduct regular stress testing, scenario analysis and risk assessments
• Monitor client and company trading exposures and identify abnormal or potentially high-risk activity
• Work closely with Trading, Dealing, Compliance, Finance and Operations teams
• Prepare regular risk reports and dashboards for senior management
• Ensure risk management policies and procedures remain aligned with CySEC and applicable EU regulatory requirements
• Support internal and external regulatory audits and examinations
• Identify weaknesses within existing controls and recommend improvements
• Maintain appropriate risk documentation, policies and procedures
• Provide senior management with timely escalation of significant risk events and breaches

Candidate Profile:

• Professional experience in Risk Management within related industry
• Strong understanding of financial markets
• Experience working within a CySEC-regulated investment firm or similar regulated financial institution will be highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of market, liquidity, credit and operational risk, ICT risk knowledge
• Understanding of margin, leverage, exposure, hedging and liquidity management
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements applicable to investment firms and financial services
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks proactively
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound risk-based decisions
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with risk-management/trading systems is an advantage
• University degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Risk Management, Accounting or a related field
