The engineer collaborates cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, service, and field teams, and plays a key role in product lifecycle management, cost optimization, and issue resolution.

Product Engineer – Rack PDU

The Product Engineer – Rack PDU provides technical leadership and product expertise to support both new product development and sustaining engineering activities for the Rack Power Distribution Unit (PDU) product line. The Product Engineer - Rack PDU ensures products meet design specifications, performance requirements, and market expectations while driving continuous improvement in quality, cost, and reliability. The Product Engineer - Rack PDU collaborates cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, services and field teams, and plays a key role in product lifecycle management, cost optimization, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage products throughout their full lifecycle, from introduction through end-of-life.
  • Capture and communicate field performance data and lessons learned to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with design teams to define and execute validation test plans to verify product performance and features.
  • Analyze product costs and identify value engineering opportunities, including evaluation of alternate components and materials.
  • Provide technical support for customer-specific applications and assist field and service teams in resolving product issues.
  • Act as regional representative for Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes, including initiating, reviewing, and approving changes.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to define and refine product specifications.
  • Support manufacturing operations with technical expertise, including troubleshooting and process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as drawings, specifications, and test reports in accordance with company standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power components and systems.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and processes.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional Enhancement)

  • Experience with rack-mounted power distribution systems or data center infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (UL, IEC, etc.).
  • Experience supporting global manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

This role may involve collaboration with global teams, manufacturing sites, and customer locations. Occasional travel may be required.
