Paramedic Operation Supervisor Summary:

The Paramedic - Operations Supervisor performs intermediate technical work, including operating an ambulance, responding to calls for emergency medical services, providing emergency medical care, supervising shifts, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of EMS Operations for CHS Ambulance Service. Continuous supervision is exercised over all personnel within the team.

Expectations and Requirements:

  • Responds to emergency calls, providing basic and advanced life support treatment to patients, as well as transportation to the appropriate medical facility.
  • Functions as a paramedic, responds to calls for requests, including emergency and non-emergency calls as needed.
  • Ensures the quality and regulatory compliance of all aspects of the operations, including supply chain needs, administrative, and operational needs as assigned and defined.
  • Attends continuing education for certification; coordinates and conducts shift trainings.
  • Works with operations team to create and maintain monthly shift schedule.
  • Assists with employee training, evaluations; provides coaching and assistance to employees.
  • Assists with ensuring clinical care is provided by reviewing charts, observing and data analysis.
  • Works with leadership on administrative and operational initiatives as defined.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years as a Paramedic, including emergency, non-emergency, and critical care inter facility transport.
  • Minimum of two (2) years as an EMS supervisor or field training officer (or equivalent).

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, emergency management, or a related field preferred.

Certifications:

  • New York State EMT-P (Paramedic) certification in good standing.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification in BLS, ACLS and PALS.
  • NIMS 100, 700, 800 preferred.

Salary Range

USD $33.00 - USD $38.00 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
